benny DLO and questions

Hi! Today in reading i have been reading a book called Benny and its about two boys friendship and what should have been fine that day but wasn't. The main characters are Benny, I and the mum. 

watercolour painting

Hi! today we did some watercolour painting and we did some contrast and texture. we got to choose are colours and work with a buddy. me and Alexia were buddy's and picked pink and purple but the purple was really blue so we worked with it. We did different types of painting skills they were the most popular. we did splating, blending, dripping and random then putting salt to make it have some texture.
blending is when you get two different colours or more and mix it together to make it go from A - B e.g purple to blue or orange to yellow.
salt is when you do something random then put some salt to make it have texture.
splat is when you grab the brush and just start slating it on the paper.
driping is when you put water and the water colour on the paper and make it drip off the paper.

hi last week i was reading the book called Tom and the Look around. we were set some questions  and so. the main characters are Tom  his granfather the seal and Toms mum.

Hi today we have been doing some activiatys on the book called benny. we did and ice burg, picture dictation and role on the wall. some people might not know what these things are so I am going to tell you about these things.

1. ice burg - ice burg is and ice burg that tells you more about the character. so this is how it works - it works like this at the top / above the water is were the character acts or shows there emotions and also were they show there emotions were there fake and not what is actually going on.
under the water or at the botton of the ice burg its were the truth is or what is there actually feeling. 

2. picture dictation - when you draw what happens in the story or the main points of the story.

3. role on the wall - is when you draw a body and pick a character from the story and describe what the character is like.

bok choy freeze frames

Hi today we did some freeze frames on a story called bok choy and we did six main points on the story. for the last few days in drama we have been practising are freeze frames.

freeze frames are senses that happen in storys or other things e.g movies.

bok choy is an plant and food you eat.

the six main scenes were
1. Ah Sum came to sell bok choy.
2. Jacob went to the river and fell in.
3.Ah Sum saved him and took him to his hut.
4. Jacobs mother came and picked him up from the hut.
5. Jacob and his mum walked back home through the Chinese village.
6.  the neighbour and Jacob and his mother were talking.

The lack of pigeons / DLO and questions

hi this week i have been working on a book called The Lack Of Pigeons and in this book there is a girl who wants to be a movie star and famous.

tapa cloth finishing

Hi today we did charcoal out lines on are tapa cloth a tapa is a cloth that has nice designs on it. we are doing a tapa cloth for art class in huru manu 4.
 the first step was get your tapa cloth and charcoal. Then start doing your design out lines.
 we used paper and crayon we also used ink and charcoal.

I liked the part how the charcoal poped and makes it look better.
If I could I would go back and do more detail.

 we learned about method like contrast tone and colours.

The Present Short Film

Hi today we watched a short film called the present. This story is about a boy who only had one leg his mother gave him a present witch was a dog that only had 3 legs. we also got some questions to answer.

> How would you describe the boy at the start of the video.
The boy in the video was just a regular boy playing a video game but when he opened the box were the puppy was he thought it was cute. He noticed one of the legs were gone and through it to the ground he was rude and mean to the puppy.

> What did he think about his present? How do you know? Why did he feel that way?
I think he did not like it at first but then he liked it. I know cause its very clear at the start of the video.
He felt that way because he did not like how the dog only has three legs.

>  What lesson did he learned at the end of the video?
The boy learned that the dog did not give up even tho it was hard and it can not walk fully.

> Why is it important to be grateful for what we have?

Its important to be grateful for what we get or have because its given will love and care and also thought. The person who gave the present put their thought and effort into the present.

Kahawai DLO and Questions

Hi this week we have been doing reading. In reading we have been doing some questions on are text/ story we are doing this because it makes sure that you have paid attention to the story. This story is a story about a girl and  her grandmother went fishing for food and she caught a fish that has not been seen in years. the name of this story is called Kahawai. I did a task that I chose witch was wright a paragraph summary in your own words about what happens in the story.
